Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

I work out of a home studio in Ypsilanti, near Clark & Prospect rd. For my safety, I prefer to limit access to my full address. Once you've made an appointment, you can find the address in the first confirmation email after booking, and again in the reminder email the day before your appointment.

What is the parking situation?

My home is located in a neighborhood where street parking is available, you are also welcome to park in the driveway. Please be mindful and try to park only in front of my house out of respect for my neighbors. There is a big wooden garden box out front!

Is your home ADA compliant?

Unfortunately I am not currently up to standard as far as accessibility, my front door requires two raised steps to get inside. I am working towards relocating my studio into a building that is more widely accessible, aiming to be ADA compliant within the next couple of years.

Are there pets in the home?

I have two beautiful fluffy cats, Pootsy and Foofur. Generally they stay out of the way, you may encounter them on your way in. You're more than welcome to say hello! For those who are allergic, although they have mostly free rein over my home, they are not allowed access into the studio. I have a handful of clients with cat allergies who have had no issues thus far!

What forms of payment are accepted?

Cash, Check, Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, and Credit Card.

What can I expect from the space?

Once you send me an arrival text, I'll let you know to meet me at my front door. You'll enter into my cozy living room and I'll walk you to my studio just on the other side. The studio space has a window facing my back yard and is well-lit with a light therapy lamp for the winter months. You'll hear whatever tasty jams I feel like playing that day and we'll get to work! Please don't hesitate to let me know of any sensory issues you may have, I will do my best to accommodate and make sure you're comfortable.

How should I have my hair when I arrive?

I'm big on keeping things realistic, come as you are and with your hair how you normally would wear it. No need to do a special shampoo beforehand. If I feel it needs a little extra TLC before we start cutting, my studio has a sink and I can give it quick shampoo.

Do you cut kid's hair?

I generally prefer to work with kids that are 10+. For those that are younger, I ask that you contact me beforehand so we can discuss whether or not I'd be a good fit. Otherwise, I can give you a recommendation for someone more suitable.

What is your late/cancellation policy?

We are all trying our best and sometimes life gets in the way! I do not have a cancellation fee at this time, the sooner you're able to let me know the better so I can try to fill your spot.

As far as showing up late, I do my best to be accommodating but after about 15 minutes passed your appointment time we may need to reschedule. I always appreciate you letting me know when you're running late!

Feel free to reach out to me with any further questions!
